Aurora Picture Show is pleased to partner with QFest on the 18th anniversary of Houston’s  International GLBT–Q Film Festival. In celebration of the comedy, the profundity and the mystery that is sex, QFest’s Kristian Salinas and Sarah Beall, Curator of the groundbreaking website MakeLoveNotPorn.TV, have curated an arousing collection of seminal and contemporary erotic short works reflecting all that is sensuous and voluptuous within both our daily and imagined lives.

Doors open at 6PM with a light reception and brews sponsored by Saint Arnold Brewery, and then the program will begin with a panel discussion at 7PM featuring Ms. Beall, artist/performer/director Dale Cooper, and intersex-bodied trans/queer performance artist Koomah. Discussing their own personal experiences, the panelists will examine alternative viewpoints that could reframe the way we look at mainstream pornography. The panel will explore new ways of looking at pornography and our relationship looking at those identities and personalities.

The adults-only screening follows at 8PM and will include multiple exhibition formats, including 16mm prints. Featured filmmakers will include James Broughton, Iris Moore, Elisha Kim, Curt MacDowell, and Travis Matthews.

Hello MLNP, my partner and I are very excited to join the community.

As some of you may already know, I am Proxy Paige. An adult performer, yes that means Porn Star. Though I would love to show my partner off, he chooses to stay anonymous.

There are a lot of common misconceptions about the differences between most real life sex and the sex performed on film. Just like any movie production there is acting involved and things to be aware of while capturing the “scenario” you’re booked for.

Like where the camera is, how it looks to the viewer, incorporating pre-discussed ideas, etc. That is not to say performers on film are not ever actually having #realworldsex, the sex performers have on film can be very real sometimes. But, the fact remains that these are predetermined fantasies, being captured for a third party viewer, looking to indulge in a particular interest of their own.

Like many others on this site, I am very excited to take this opportunity to show you the beauty of #realworldsex. No being told what to do, how to do it, opening up for the camera, just real experiences people share with one another.

When my girlfriend (and MLNPstar) Lily Labeau first told me about this site and the concept behind it, I was overjoyed at the fact that a network of people came together to create and share something so special with the world. I am very proud to join a mature community with good standards and values because there is a real difference between the porno movies we see and the way sex can be in real life. (Not to put any limits on #realwordsex by saying it’s never like it is in the movies cause that’s also not true).

I have tried so many times to explain the differences between #realworldsex and sex on film. So many people misinterpret the fantasy aspect of sex on film, thinking that is how sex is supposed to be, but this is just not the case. Sex is different for everyone and it is what you make it to be. So now I can start referring people to this site, to see the differences for themselves. That should save me a lot of explaining in the future! 

I am a big fan of sexual expression. It’s something I am very passionate about, not limited to just one type of sexual situation whether it’s having #realworldsex or having #pornworldsex for a living.
